Freshers Lectures Suspended due to several seizures among Students

   Noises and Murmurings of the newly admitted 'Freshers' of the present number one University in Nigeria,University of Ilorin:The 'Better by Far' Institution,was what took over the atmosphere of the popular Lecture Theatre 1(LT1) and its environs at about 11 o'clock Friday morning,November 21st.What seemed to be a brawl turned out to be a more serious issue when our correspondent approached the scene.
   The Fresh students had a lecture scheduled for 10am at the venue discussed above,LT1,that morning.Some minutes to 10,the 'usual' struggling and pushing that precedes entering the lecture theatre ensued among students;with the students,having on their mind,the lone aim of obtaining a seat to lay their bottom for comfort. *It surely ain't a cosy thing standing while receiving lecture,trust me(speaking from experience). The stony determination of getting a seat which led to the pushing and trampling resulted into a rather disturbing and alarming event.
  A female student,who of course is fragile and less energetic than her fellow male colleagues and other female students,couldn't withstand the heat,pushing,dust and choking atmosphere which she was subjected to and this made her lose consciousness. Not only did she faint,she was also being trampled upon. But for the timely intervention of some observant student,she was quickly picked up and rushed to the University clinic.
   Also,according to a 100L student of the Faculty of Education who preferred anonymity, the above scenario was the second of its kind that happened that week,on Thursday to be precise. I'm very positive that that was what lead to the definite suspension of lectures by the school management.
   But come to think of it,what do the management plan doing? Rescheduling and Regrouping lecture times and venues? Build more lecture theatres? Renovate the old ones? Well,who knows? .Whatever they plan on doing,we hope it's gonna be for the better and it prevents further happenings like this.
